Volatile Matter

Envigas BioCoke has a relatively low level of volatile matter.

Volatile matter is a frequently measured parameter in coal and carbon. Essentially it is a measure of the non-water gases formed from a carbon sample during heating in an oxygen-free environment. Normally the vaporization is divided into two components; light volatiles and tar. Envigas BioCarbon has a relatively low level of volatile matter. Envigas BioCoke has a somewhat higher level of volatiles due to the densification/extrusion process that uses binders at mixing.
